MEET THE TEAM
Angélica Leyva, Program Officer Environmental Conservation
Angelica manages the International Community Foundation’s core grantmaking processes, including training and regularly interfacing with ICF’s Board, staff, and donors to ensure that grants are successfully received, processed, and dispersed to ICF’s more than 180 grantees. As part of this process, she also manages the key software and database systems that ICF staff, donors and grantees use on a daily basis, ensuring that data is accurately captured for programmatic and tracking purposes. Additionally, Angelica assists the Program Officers with special initiatives and supports ICF’s fundraising and development activities. Angelica first joined ICF in the summer of 2013 as an Undergraduate Intern and officially joined the team in January 2016.
During her undergraduate career at the University of San Diego, Angelica studied Catholicism in Italy, worked at the Student Leadership, Involvement and Change-making Department (SLIC) as an Involvement Consultant and Senior Staff Manager and held leadership roles in the two Latino student activist organizations on campus as the President, Event programmer, Chicano Latino Graduation Committee Chair and Chicano Latino Graduation Committee Fundraising Chair for the Association of Chicana Activist and as the Vice Chair and Historian for the Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano/a de Aztlan.
Angelica is currently pursuing a Paralegal Studies Certificate from the University of San Diego where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Spanish. She aspires to pursue a career in environmental law & animal rights.
Angelica enjoys hiking with her 4 dogs and spending time with her family.
